- UnknownReason for Works: The Sycamore tree has reached a size and condition that now presents concerns regarding safety, structural impact, and long‑term suitability for its location. The tree’s current growth is causing increased pressure on the surrounding area, including proximity to property boundaries and potential interference with structures and services. Due to its size and ongoing growth habit, the tree poses a foreseeable risk of branch failure, especially during adverse weather conditions. In addition, Sycamore is a vigorous species with a dense canopy and rapid regrowth, making ongoing management increasingly difficult within the confined space available. Removal is considered the most appropriate long‑term solution to prevent future safety issues and avoid repeated intervention. Proposed Works: Complete removal of the Sycamore tree to ground level. All works will be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work – Recommendations, ensuring safe and controlled dismantling to protect the surrounding area. Replanting Proposal: A suitable replacement tree can be planted if required by the Local Planning Authority. Species can be discussed to ensure long‑term suitability for the site.13 Longdown Road, Congleton, Cheshire East, CW12 4QHReceived 24 Apr 2026Trees26/1542/TPO4.28 km from centreCheshire East council

- UnknownConsent to remove four Scots Pine trees located within the grounds of the affected properties. Over recent years these trees have significantly outgrown the space available to them and are now causing multiple issues that present ongoing risks to both property and public safety. The root systems have expanded to a point where they are causing damage to nearby property foundations. In addition, the trees are shedding large volumes of needles and debris, which are regularly blocking gutters and contributing to damp issues within the adjoining buildings. There is also a notable fire risk due to the accumulation of dry pine needles around the properties, particularly during extended dry periods. Several branches within the crowns have already snapped and fallen, and further dead or weakened branches remain present. The trees are also developing a lean towards the neighbouring properties, increasing the likelihood of failure during adverse weather. With the effects of climate change, the area is experiencing more frequent high‑wind events. These trees have shown increased branch drop during such conditions, and the risk of further failure is now considered significant. Given the proximity of the trees to residential homes, the potential for injury or damage is substantial. For these reasons, I recommend the full removal of all four Scots Pine trees. This action is necessary to protect the safety of the residents, prevent further structural damage, and eliminate the ongoing hazards associated with these trees. All works will be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 – British Standard for Tree Work, ensuring best practice, safety, and compliance with industry guidelines. Replanting with more suitable species can be arranged in accordance with council requirements.2 Black Firs Lane, Somerford, Congleton, Cheshire East, CW12 4QQReceived 31 Dec 2025Trees25/4900/TPO4.08 km from centreCheshire East council

- Unknown3 Very tall Conifers growing close together. Fell to low stumps. They dominate the houses either side, dropping debris and brush on to the roof tops. The owners are concerned that this proximity means if there is any failure there is a risk to life and property, both for their own home, as well as for the neighbours and the public car park to the rear. They have also had a survey that shows roots are growing into the drains, which again are very close to the trees.Sandiford Cottage, The Square London Road, Holmes Chapel, Crewe, Cheshire East, CW4 7AHReceived 17 Nov 2025Trees25/4418/TCA4.82 km from centreCheshire East council

- UnknownProposed Works – Crown Lifting There are approximately five mature alder trees located behind our property (on council-owned land). All neighbouring properties have already had the crowns of the corresponding trees lifted. This work was undertaken to mitigate the risk posed by large, heavy branches falling during periods of high wind. Such incidents present a significant hazard to residents, particularly to young children who regularly use the gardens. The alder trees to the rear of our property now require similar crown lifting to maintain consistency with adjacent properties and to reduce the risk of branch failure. Several large branches have already fallen, likely due to the increased wind load on the lower canopy. The proposed works are therefore intended to improve safety while preserving the health and overall form of the trees.23 Longdown Road, Congleton, Cheshire East, CW12 4QHReceived 06 Nov 2025Trees25/4296/TPO4.28 km from centreCheshire East council
